People trapped in a hospital and dealing with the stress of illness really appreciate the company and assistance volunteers offer them. When you work with children, it can be especially rewarding. You can brighten their day and give their parents a much needed break at the same time. You can get a lot out of a hospital volunteer opportunity as well.

Proving you are a caring person, who is responsible, can help you get a better job or get into a great school. If this is one of your goals, you should consider asking for a letter of recommendation from your volunteer supervisor. This will give you an extra vote of confidence. These cloth dolls are designed to help the child ease into treatment by providing them with a friend who will go through the same procedures as themselves. You can choose to set up just a one-time visit or make it a regular occurrence. This is especially rewarding around the holidays. You might consider putting together a program to perform, or distributing supplies and toys. Or get your youth group together and go read to children at a local children’s hospital.
